Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in a nationally-televised speech to the Iranian parliament (Majlis) on Tuesday morning, emphasised that United States is the most isolated country in the world, with hardly any country supporting America's unfair and illegal unilateral sanctions regime.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to an Iran Press report, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made the remarks in the Majlis (parliament) to a packed hall of parliamentarians, emphasising the fact that America's usual allies - major European countries for example - have all turned their back on Donald Trump's administration.

Iranian President said: “Sanctions are not ineffective on people’s lives, but the US will definitely fail in reaching that target.”

“We will overcome problems with parliament’s help, people’s support and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s  guidance,” continued Rouhani.

Iranian President also said that year 1398 budget bill is being submitted during unjust US sanctions and pressures, adding: “This year’s Dey month will be a month full of blessings for people.”

“In the beginning and end of last year’s Dey month we encountered some problems that made Americans think wrongly and take new stances against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the nuclear deal,” Rouhani continued.

Iranian President went on to say: “The main goal of the United States by these conspiracies and sanctions and pressures, which are directly aimed at the great Iranian nation, people of the region and economic and commercial companies of the world against all international regulations, is to bring the powerful Islamic Republic of Iran to its knees.”

Stating that the Americans consider the powerful Iran their biggest obstacle in this critical region, Rouhani said: “Therefore, whenever we have been able to do something great in domestic advancements, they put obstacles on our way because they are afraid of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s capabilities.”

Iranian President also discussed at great length next year's budget, and made the case for more transparency within the government.

He also said the public should be fully informed about government activities and performance, arguing that 'more transparency means less corruption'.

Rouhani said the only way to counter corruption is through transparency. He also made the case for a more efficient e-government, saying: "the public deserves a fully-functioning electronic-government."

Turning to taxation, the president said: 'those who earn more should pay more taxes'.

He said that we should reform and rectify the current taxation system to make it fairer.

Iranian President also stressed that at a time of economic hardship, it is wrong to increase the tax burden on individuals and companies.
