Tehran's interim Friday Prayer preacher Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani asked Iranian government to manage economy with a unified voice.

Addressing worshippers, Tehran's interim Friday Prayer preacher Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani added, It is said that some of the members of the cabinet's economic team do not agree with the economic policies of the government. Multiplicity of voices in the government's economic decisions is not acceptable.'

Movahedi Kermani also said that Iranian government should use young and energetic people in the cabinet to manage economic situation.

Noting that allocating low cost forex to unnecessary travels is a treason to the country, the Ayatollah said that some travels are necessary or a student wants to travel for study purposes, but why should cheap forex be allocated to unnecessary travels?

He also noted that another problem of the Central Bank of Iran is that it is not independent of the government.

Meanwhile, Hassan Rouhani’s cabinet on Wednesday gave Abdolnaser Hemmati a vote of confidence to replace Valiollah Seif as the governor of the Central Bank of Iran.

Rouhani considered Hemmati’s top priority tasks as the new CBI governor to be reforming the banking system and financial and monetary policies, improving banking relations with the world and expanding bilateral monetary agreements, as well as protecting the country’s foreign-exchange reserves.
