President Rouhani meets with new ambassadors of Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Belgium, emphasizing on strengthening of economic ties and safeguarding JCPOA.

Iran Press/Europe: President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with new ambassador of the Netherlands to Tehran,  Jacques Louis Werner, described Iran-Netherlands relations as long-standing and close, saying, “We are willing to deepen relations with the Netherlands in all fields, especially economy and banking” official website of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran reported.

Speaking on Tuesday Rouhani also welcomed the political stances of the Netherlands and the European Union towards the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying, “We all should work hard to safeguard this important, international agreement”.

“I hope that the interim ruling of the International Court of Justice prevents the United States’ illegal and unilateral acts, including anti-human sanctions,” he continued.

Rouhani also stressed the importance of all-out fight against terrorism, saying, “Today, terrorism has turned into a problem, not only for the region, but also for the entire world; therefore, it is imperative that all countries understand its risks, and possess the resolve to combat this scourge”.

Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Ahwaz city in southern Iran, the President said, “Unfortunately those who claimed responsibility for this attack live in Europe, and we hope that European countries carry out the necessary measures in this regard”.

The new ambassador of the Netherlands to Tehran presented his credentials to President Rouhani and said, “The government of the Netherlands fully supports the nuclear deal’s implementation”.

“Along with the EU’s strengthening of financial institutions, we are determined to further develop our banking relations with Iran to not let sanctions have any effect on economic relations between the two countries,” he continued.

He also said: "I assure you that the Netherlands is seeking to further consolidate economic relations with Iran, and in this regard we have asked our trade and commerce community to have an active presence in Iran."

"We will also be active in prosecuting the perpetrators of the Ahwaz terrorist attack, who are in Europe," he continued.

President Rouhani in a separate meeting with new ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Tehran said, "We are ready to deepen political, commercial, economic, and cultural ties with Sarajevo."

Speaking on Tuesday in a meeting with the new ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Development of relations and ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina in different fields is very important for Iran”.

Rouhani also went on to refer to the historical, amicable relations between the two nations and said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood by the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina in hard times”.

“Today, we are happy that this country is enjoying peace and security with all ethnic groups living alongside each other,” continued Rouhani.

He added, “All existing potentials and capabilities in the two countries should be taken advantage of to further deepen Tehran-Sarajevo relations”.

Samir Velajic, new ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Tehran presented his credentials to the president and said that his country was determined to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields of mutual interest, especially economic relations.

President Rouhani also in another meeting with new Belgian ambassador to Tehran said, "Iran is ready to cement economic, political ties with EU, including Belgium. Those opposing stronger Iran-EU ties have plans for sabotaging these ties."

President stated that Tehran is ready to develop commercial, economic and political relations with the European Union, including Belgium.

Speaking on Tuesday in a meeting with the new Belgian ambassador to Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Iran-Belgium relations are long-standing and there is no obstacles on the path of developing these relations further”.

He also described EU’s stances towards JCPOA firm and expressed hope that good steps be taken in development of economic cooperation.

“We believe that some oppose deep Iran-EU ties and have plans to sabotage these good relations,” he continued.

Rouhani also expressed hope that Iran’s economic relations with EU members will be much expanded and strengthened.

Veronique Petty, new Belgian ambassador to Tehran presented her credentials to president Rouhani and said Tehran-Brussels relations have developed in all fields of mutual interest to the two countries and the two countries will celebrate their 100-year anniversary of relations in 2020.

She also described JCPOA as a very great success in the international stage and said that the EU and Belgium would do whatever they can to safeguard the deal.
