Moscow (IP) - Iran's Ambassador to Moscow says the five littoral states of the Caspian Sea should expand their ties in different areas due to their capacities, including their neighborhood.

Iran PressEurope: The second Caspian Economic Forum was held in Moscow on Wednesday and Thursday (October 5th and 6th) in the presence of Mohammad Mokhber, the first vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the prime ministers of the four littoral states of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press in Moscow, Kazem Jalali said the five countries were the producers of energy and could balance their policies in the section.

He stressed that the countries were located in the north-south corridor any way or other, something that has fostered opportunities for transiting goods.

The Iranian ambassador pointed to the second edition of the Caspian Sea Economic Forum and said that Iran presented good proposals to expand cooperation and protect the Caspian Sea.

He highlighted the environmental aspect of the Caspian Sea and stressed that the five littoral countries must protect the sea.  

At the official invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber arrived in Moscow on Thursday to attend the second edition of the Caspian Economic Forum.

Mokhber said in the forum that the Caspian Sea was a common legacy of the area's coastal countries and noted that Iran was determined to increase economic cooperation with the countries.
