Tehran (IP)- The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance said: Caspian Sea countries want to increase oil and gas swaps and trade with national currencies.

Iran Press/Iran news: From 5 to 6 October, 2022, Moscow hosted the second Caspian Economic Forum, which became the most important platform in the post-pandemic period for discussing topical issues of cooperation between the countries of the Caspian region.

Talking about the acchivements of the Iranian delegation at the second Caspian Sea Economic Forum , Seyyed Ehsan Khandouzi, the Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance said: During the past year, the trade of the countries along the Caspian Sea has increased by about 30%.

In an interview with IRIB,  The Minister of Economy said: In the meeting of the first vice president of Iran and the prime ministers of the border countries, five items were emphasized, which are: Quick completion of the north-south corridors, increasing oil and gas swap between the countries around the Caspian Sea, speeding up the green customs route, exchange of commercial documents and harmonization of shipping tariffs online, trade with national currencies and the connection of the banking network of the countries(especially the connection of Shetab, Mir payment systems).

Khandouzi noted: It was also agreed that the ministers of economy of the 5 Caspian countries will prepare a road map of economic cooperation with full details so that it will be included in the agenda of the next meetings.

The Third Caspian Economic Forum will be held in Iran in 2023.
