Tehran (IP) – Iran's Parliament speaker and the president of Tajikistan emphasized broadening ties and called for expanding political, economic, scientific and technological cooperation.

Iran PressIran News: Meeting with President Emomali Rahmon on Monday, the Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the relations between the two countries had developed a lot in recent months, but it is far from reaching the desired point.

He expressed hope that the two countries would see growth in economic interactions in the near future, especially with the activation of the private sector.

The Tajik president, for his part, stated that Iran had made a lot of progress and development in recent years, saying: "The progress of the Islamic Republic in peaceful nuclear technology and the ineffectiveness of sanctions shows the progress of your country and we are ready to cooperate with Iran in various fields."

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has traveled to Iran for a two-day visit at the head of a high-level delegation on Sunday afternoon.
