One person was killed and four others were critically wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon at a Presbyterian church in a suburban Southern California community, a suspect was in custody.

Iran Press/America: The shooting was reported shortly before 1.30 pm at Geneva Presbyterian Church in the city of Laguna Woods, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said on Twitter.

The motive for the shooting has not yet been determined, he said.

"Four of the victims are in critical condition and another is being treated for minor injuries," Brown said.

A local police spokesman said the body of the man killed had been found by authorities inside the church. Brown did not provide further details about the victims to the media.

According to the New York Times, large numbers of Taiwanese people were inside the church at the time of the shooting, but officials did not say whether they were the target of the attack.

Ten people were also killed, and three were wounded in a mass shooting at a Buffalo grocery store in NY on Saturday.
