Tehran (IP) – The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Russia’s Gazprom managers agreed to expand cooperation in the energy field.

Iran PressIran News: In a meeting between NIOC CEO Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr and managers of Russia’s Gazprom on the sidelines of Tehran's 26th International Oil Industry Exhibition on Friday, the two sides signed the agreement.

The two sides also agreed that further negotiations for broader ties in various possible energy fields would be held in the future.

Tehran's 26th International Oil Industry Exhibition kicked off on Friday and will be wrapped up on May 16.

The exhibition focuses on oil, gas, refineries, and petrochemical fields.

Besides Iran, the exhibition hosts companies from 11 countries, including Italy, Spain, the UAE, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine, South Africa and Belgium.
