Iran PressIran News: Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi in a message condoled martyrdom of Hassan Irlou, the late Iranian ambassador to Yemen, whose two brothers, too, had been earlier martyred.

In a separate message, Iran's Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of the Iranian ambassador to Yemen.

Ghalibaf praised Iran's late ambassador to Yemen, saying that he did not stop for a moment in strengthening the axis of resistance and defending the oppressed people of the region, especially the nation of Yemen.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh had earlier announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ambassador to Yemen Hassan Irlou had been martyred due to being affected by the COVID-19 virus.

Martyr Irlou was among the victims of the chemical weapons used by the ousted regime of Saddam Hussain in its imposed war against Iran, and when infected with Covid-19, he was forwarded to Iran to remedy his health conditions; however, his health has so deteriorated that none of the medical measures adopted to save his life. 219
