Tehran (IP) – Secretary-general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought called for peace and friendship and the effort to create a common dialogue as the message of the International Conference on Islamic Unity.

Iran PressIran News: Responding to Iran Press on the sidelines of the 35th International Conference on Islamic Unity, Hamid Shahriari said: "The conference will try to invite the Islamic world to peace and friendship through a common dialogue."

He went on to say: "In fact, we must try to eradicate ignorance in the Islamic world, and Islamic scholars have a duty to eradicate war and terror in the Islamic world by promoting Islamic fraternity."

He stated that to achieve this goal, science, knowledge, and accurate understanding must be promoted in the Islamic world, and Islamic nations must be taught to resolve their differences without war and bloodshed.

Shahriari announced that a website would be launched soon so that the Islamic world could help the oppressed people of Palestine.

The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) has been established by the order of the Leader of the Revolution since 1990. So far, 34 sessions of the Unity Conference have been held.
