In the meeting of Iranian FM and Lebanon Parliament Speaker

Beirut (IP) – Iranian foreign minister met the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri in Beirut after meeting with the Lebanese President during his first round of consultations in the country.

Iran PressMiddle East: In meeting with Nabih Berri on Thursday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian referred to the Iran-Lebanon consultations and said: "In the meeting, we stressed the need to expand cooperation between the two countries in various fields."

He stated that Iran would stand firmly with Lebanon in all crises.

"We assessed the continuation of Iran-Saudi talks as positive in the meeting," he noted.

"We believe that foreign forces are the main cause of problems and tensions in our region," Amir-Abdollahian added.

He once again announced Iran's readiness to provide all possible assistance to Lebanon in overcoming the current situation.

Both the Iranian foreign minister and the Lebanese parliament speaker stressed that the regional problems need to be solved by the people of the region.

They also discussed ongoing talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia and expressed upbeat about such negotiations.   

The Iranian foreign minister had left the Russian capital Moscow for Beirut on Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the Lebanese President  Michel Aoun during his first round of consultations in Lebanon stressing Iran's support for Lebanon.
