Beirut (IP) - Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the Lebanese President during his first round of consultations in Lebanon stressing Iran's support for Lebanon.

Iran PressMiddle East: During the meeting, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Michel Aoun stressed the need to increase the level of interaction and cooperation in the economic, political, and cultural fields.

The issue of standing up to the threats of the Israeli regime and the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the territorial integrity and independence of Lebanon were other topics discussed during the meeting.

Amir-Abdollahian: We loudly support Lebanon

Regarding the main points of consultation with Lebanese officials during his visit to Beirut airport, Amir-Abdollahian said: "We have better and newer proposals to help break the Lebanese economic siege, while we will continue the previous path as long as Lebanese officials would desire and we will help Lebanese in other issues."

Hossein Amir- Abdollahian will meet with, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib, respectively, from Thursday morning until Thursday evening.

On Thursday night, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will meet with senior members and representatives of various Palestinian groups at our embassy in Beirut.
