Russia (IP): The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman says that what is happening in Afghanistan these days is the result of Washington's intervention and 20 years of failed occupation.

Iran PressEurope: Expressing concern over the situation in Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: "Moscow is closely monitoring developments in Afghanistan and is concerned about a humanitarian catastrophe."

Zakharova added: "The world is watching the results of the US repetitive and failed interventions, which never learn lessons from the history."

She said: "The 20-year occupation has not only failed to strengthen Afghanistan's government and its military infrastructure but it also has deepened the tragedy."
