Tabriz (IP) - The historical village of Lighvan with stepped architecture is located 36 km from Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan province, northwest of Iran.

It is one of the region's tourist attractions, but its fame is mostly due to the production of one of the most delicious cheeses in Iran, namely "Lighvan cheese."

Lighvan cheese is one of the most famous traditional cheeses in Iran and the world and known as Azerbaijani white cheese.

More than 300 cheese producers are active in Lighvan village and neighboring villages.

Lighvan traditional cheese is stored for 4 to 12 months in saltwater in traditional or modern refrigerators until it is ready to use. This type of cheese has a crispy texture and a delicious taste.

Lighvan traditional cheese is very popular among Iranians and is exported to many other countries.
