Tehran (IP) - During the week of "Promoting the Culture of Wrestling and Athletes", the sports delegations from Iranian "Zurkhaneh" and wrestling distributed more than 4,000 aid and livelihoods packages to the needy.

Iran Press/Iran news: Masoud Maleki, head of the Iranian Zurkhaneh Sports and Wrestling Federation, said in a telephone interview with Iran Press: "In cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the National Olympic Committee, and the Athletes' Basij Organization, we distributed livelihood packages by health instructions."

Zurkhaneh rituals or sport is the name inscribed by UNESCO for a heroic sport and traditional athletics system originally used to train warriors in ancient Iran.

Masoud Maleki said: "In Tehran, the Zurkhaneh Sports and Wrestling Federation commemorated the "National Day of Wrestling Culture and Zurkhaneh Sports" in collaboration with the Minister of Sports and Youth. During the event, some Iranian sports officials and zurkhaneh sports elites, distributed 100 livelihood packages among the needy."

The head of the Zurkhaneh Sports and Wrestling Federation also added: "For the first time in the last few years, the Secretariat of the Promoting the Culture of Wrestling and Athletes, with the presence of the Office of Deputy Minister of Culture of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Athletes and Sport Basij Organization, held the Week of Promoting the Culture of Wrestling and Athletes with the support of IRIB."
