Iran has high capacity to increase enrichment to the industrial level, Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Monday.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi's visit to an enrichment complex in Fordo site in Qom Province, west of the country's capital city.

Iran continues its nuclear activities according to its obligations enshrined in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Islamic Republic and G5+1 in 2015, the official added.

Iran has plan to increase the enrichment to the industrial levels in the absence of the JCPOA, he said in reference to the potential sabotage of the deal in the wake of the US withdrawal from the international pact and potential return of sanctions.

Recently, China and Iran held their first bilateral seminar on civil nuclear cooperation under the Joint Comprehensive Program of Action (JCPOA), or the Iran Nuclear Dealin Beijing. Officials and nuclear experts discussed potential collaborations under the framework of the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal.

"Iran and China relation do not depend on the position of a specific country in which we have seen it today in Chinese official's remarks. They insisted that countries should stay committed to their obligations toward JCPOA and it should also be supported", Behrouz Kamalvandi said in an exclusive interview with IRIB on the sideline of the seminar.
