Tehran (IP) - Iranian President's Chief of Staff said that among 15 neighboring countries, Iran had the best relations with Turkey.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Our relation with Turkey is very important to us, especially in the economic sector. We must not allow coronavirus and the sanctions that have been in place for the past three years to affect our relations," Mahmoud Vaezi said during the 28th Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Commission on Wednesday which was held virtually.

"We will increase gas exports as much as we can, and will return oil exports to the pre-sanctions period, which will have a greater impact on trade relations," Vaezi noted.

After signing six MoUs between Iran and Turkey, Mahmoud Vaezi in response to reporters called Iran-Turkey relations very important, said: "The main part of this cooperation is political, regional, economic and commercial."

According to the signed memoranda, the most important areas of cooperation between Iran and Turkey were scientific relations and tourism, gas, energy, power, transportation, trade and customs, banking, as well as the environment.
