Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister and his Irish counterpart consulted on mutual interest issues and expanding bilateral relations.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney held a meeting on Sunday, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.

The Irish Foreign Minister also met the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani earlier on Sunday.

Coveney said in a statement posted on the Irish Foreign Ministry's website on Saturday, saying: "The trip to Iran follows a decision made by the government last week to facilitate the staying of a charge d'affaires and reopen the Irish embassy in Tehran by 2023, at an important juncture in bilateral relations.
