Tehran (IP) - Foreign Ministry Spokesman said that US President Biden's administration had a disappointing start in fulfilling Washington's commitments.

Iran PressEurope: Attending his weekly press conference and in response to Iran Press question regarding the US’ effort to adopt a resolution on Iran’s nuclear activities Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Monday that Iran had proved its honesty in extending its agreement with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for three months.

The spokesman noted: "The JCPOA parties should appreciate Iran's goodwill in cooperating with the IAEA for three months."

He went on to say that the US had stepped in a wrong way, while the path of Iran's cooperation with the IAEA along the path of safeguards was clear and would continue.”

“Iran takes action against the action and measures against the measures,” he highlighted.

Saeed Khatibzadeh further elaborated on the second question of Iran Press regarding the Iraqi foreign minister’s trip to Tehran for the second time in February saying Fuad Hussein's visit to Iran and his consultations were focused on security issues and noted: "One of the topics of consultations with Fuad Hussein is some developments in Iraq and security field."

He further explained that the martyrdom of Lt Gen Soleimani had been one of the topics of the consultations.

Iraq’s officials gave the latest reports on the security position of the country and Iran-Iraq has always had cooperation in fighting against terrorism, Khatibzadeh concluded.
