Tehran (IP) - The Chief of Iran's Judiciary says that Germany, France, and Britain should be tried for helping Saddam with chemical weapons.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking on Tuesday at the International Conference on the 'Legal-International Claims of the Holy Defense', the head of Iran's Judiciary Ebrahim Raisi said: "Germany, France, and Britain must answer how they claim that they are against chemical weapons while they gave them to Saddam's regime. They must be tried."

"It must be clarified how western countries violated human rights by participating in Saddam's invasion of Iran," he added.

"These countries must now go to the bed of chemical and neurological veterans and see how they have been suffering for 30 years," Raisi stressed.

"If an indictment is filed against these countries, it will be a thick and serious case," he noted.

"It remains to be seen why hegemonic powers like the United States not only did not prevent Saddam's aggression but also supported it," the Chief of Iran's Judiciary said.

The International Conference on the Legal-International Claims of the Holy Defense was held on Tuesday with the attendance of the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Chief of Iran's Judiciary Ebrahim Raisi, Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Mohamad Bagheri, Top Military Aide to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi and ambassadors and military attachés of various countries.
