”Iran's position on the Strait of Hormuz has been stated clearly. We will not allow the Strait of Hormuz to become a platform for threatening Iran's national security.“ Baqaei said, adding: ”At the same time, we have acted sincerely and responsibly to ensure the safety and security of navigation along this waterway. The party that has consistently undermined stability in this route, however, has been the United States."
"Any Country Used to Launch Attacks Against Iran Receives Iran's Defensive Response"
Esmaeil Baqaei said: ”We have not attacked and will not attack any country in the region. The Islamic Republic of Iran's defensive strikes are directed solely at bases, facilities, and positions used by the United States to launch attacks against Iran."
”We have repeatedly urged the countries of the region, in line with their obligations under international law, not to allow the United States or the Zionist regime to use their territory, facilities, or soil to plan, prepare, or carry out acts of aggression against Iran," he added.
"France Should Not Play a Role in Matters That Do Not Concern It"
Responding to French foreign minister’s “interventionist” remarks regarding Iran’s nuclear program, Baqaei said: “The French should truly learn not to expect to play a role in matters that do not concern them, or from which they have excluded themselves through their own inappropriate conduct.”
“The points they raise merely reiterate positions that have never served as a basis for us. Whether on the nuclear issue or on any other matter relating to Iran’s national security and national sovereignty, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make its decisions based on its own judgment,” he added.
