Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reacted to US President Donald Trump's recent insults against the Islamic Republic of Iran in a Twitter message, saying that the Iranian people aren't intimidated by the bullying rhetoric of the failing and lawless US regime.

Iran Press/Iran News: Khatibzadeh stated in a Twitter message on Saturday: "The Iranian people aren't intimidated by the bullying rhetoric of the failing & lawless US regime. Our people leave no stone unturned in defending Iran's dignity.”

“We will choose a response to US crimes—including sadistic sanctions and the criminal assassination of ISIS #1 enemy Gen Soleimani," he added.

US terrorists assassinated General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of Iraq’s Hashd al-Sha’abi, and their companions by targeting their vehicles outside Baghdad International Airport on January 3.

The US president has once again threatened Iran in a radio interview on Friday using obscene words.

The US president's use of these words in the interview showed the depth of his anger, making producers on some radio stations censor his remarks.

He said Iran knows not to “f–k around with us” during a two hour “virtual rally” with radio host Rush Limbaugh.

During the program, Trump claimed that Iran would make a new nuclear deal with the US if he wins the Nov. 3 election.

“If I win, we’ll have a great deal with Iran within one month,” he said.

The outspoken US president also issued a threat against Iran, saying the country will pay one-thousand-times if it does anything against the US.

The US president’s remarks came after Washington on Thursday targeted Iran’s financial sector by imposing sanctions on 18 Iranian banks, in defiance of Europe’s humanitarian objections.

The Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) specified two of the targets as Iran’s Bank Maskan and Bank Keshavarzi. The former is relied on by the most significant part of the country’s 80-million-strong population for loans assisting them in buying houses, while the latter has the biggest stakes countrywide in the agricultural sector.

Bank Refah Kargaran, which is favored by the country’s laborers and technical workers, Bank Gharzolhasaneh Resalat, reputed for its small and low-interest loans, and entrepreneurship-focused Karafarin Bank were also among the financial institutions.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran flared in 2018 when Trump withdrew the US from the JCPOA (the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action).

Following its much-criticized exit, Washington has been attempting to prevent the remaining signatories from abiding by their commitments and thus kill the historic agreement, which is widely viewed as a fruit of international diplomacy.
