Iran ranks 10 worldwide in medical tourism

Tehran (IP) In 2018, Iran ranked 3 in the Islamic world and 10 in the world with $ 315 million of medical tourism market share.

Iran PressIran News: Mohammad Qasemi, Director-General of the Tourism Marketing and Advertising Office of Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said, "According to statistics and information provided by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture of Islamic countries for the 15th meeting of the Tourism Working Group of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation called "COMCEC", in 2018, Iran ranked third in the Islamic world and tenth in the world with $ 315 million of medical tourism market share." 

Medical tourism is one of the sub-branches of health tourism. It refers to people traveling abroad to receive medical treatment. People with rare conditions may travel to countries where the treatment is better understood.
