Beirut(IP): Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Lebanon in Beirut to discuss latest regional developments.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the head of a delegation in Beirut, this morning, met Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and discussed latest developments in the region and bilateral issues.

Last night, during the welcoming ceremony at Lebanon's Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, Amir -Abdollahian warned about the situation in the region and announced that if Zionist regime continues to besiege the people of Gaza, other memebrs of the axis of resistance will also react to the crimes commited by this regime.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran in his meeting with the Lebanese Prime Minister noted that the purpose of this trip is to emphasize the security and development of Lebanon. Regarding Palestine, pointing out that the recent operation Al-Aqsa flood operation was totally a Palestinian operation, he said that this action by the Palestinians was a natural reaction to Netanyahu's crimes, especially in recent months.

Amir- Abdollahian also pointed out that the unlimited support of the United States for the ongoing crimes of Israeli regime will make the situation even worse, and adding: "Some are worried about the spread of war in the region and the opening of new fronts."

Iran's foreign minister said:" US invites everyone to exercise restraint, but gives Israeli regime weapons and aid."

Amir-Abdollahian stated: "Considering the current situation in Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran proposed holding an emergency meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and it is necessary to hold a high-level meeting among Islamic countries regarding Palestine."

In this meeting, the Prime Minister of Lebanon described the situation in Gaza critical and said that Lebanon supports Palestine as a matter of right.

Mikati considered diplomatic contacts important to curb conditions detriorating and described Iran's role in this diplomatic effort important and considered all efforts to prevent a regional war as an urgent necessity.

Amir-Abdollahian holds talks with Lebanese counterpart in Beirut
