Tehran (IP): Parliament Speaker stressed the need for comprehensive cooperation, especially the development of economic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

Iran Press/Iran News: In a meeting with the Russian ambassador Levan Jagaryan on Monday, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said, "There is no doubt that Russia's Duma's parliamentary cooperation with the Islamic Consultative Assembly in the field of economic issues will continue more quickly and accurately, and that this will be a priority."

He added, "The allegations made in the recent IAEA resolution are not legal and Russia has taken a firm stance on the issue."

Iranian Parliament Speaker expressed satisfaction with the joint Iran-Russia consultations on Syria, adding "Resolving the Syrian issue has only a political solution and holding a virtual tripartite or face-to-face meeting of the leaders of Iran, Russia, and Turkey will help make it happen."

For his part, Levan Jagaryan said, "It is a great honor to see you as the first foreign guest and I hope that bilateral relations between Iran and Russia will continue to improve as in the past."

The Russian ambassador to Iran also stressed that the anti-Iranian allegations made by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Board of Governors were against the law, noting that "Russia and China's support of Iran will continue in this field."
