Iran Press/ Iran News: The Deputy Director of Cultural, Social and Pilgrimage to Khorasan Razavi Governorate, Hojjat Gonabadinejad, said: "These pilgrims come to hold the mourning ceremony of the last days of the month of Safar, by air and land, including rail, road or car from all the entry routes to Mashhad.
Also, the Spokesperson of Imam Reza (AS) Pedestrian Pilgrims Association, Hossein Rezaei, announced the number of pilgrims who visited Mashhad on foot until Friday midnight to attend the mourning ceremony for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) has stood at 315,000 people, based on statistics.
Rezaei added: "The movement of Imam Reza (AS) pilgrims on foot started 20 days ago, and today we are witnessing the highest traffic of walking pilgrims on the routes leading to Mashhad."
The spokesperson of Imam Reza (AS) Pedestrian Pilgrims Association stated: "In the past years, more than 150,000 pilgrims on foot entered Mashhad at the same time as the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS). Regarding the accommodation status of the pilgrims on foot, it should be said that according to the registration of the convoys for accommodation, the accommodation capacity of 150,000 people is complete in the population of servants of the pilgrims on foot, and we do not have any problems regarding the accommodation."
Rezaei added: "Due to the increase in pilgrims, five stations have been added to the number of pilgrim reception stations, reaching to to 345 from 340."
