Tehran (IP) – Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said that Iran’s economic growth has been positive in all economic sections, and more than 470,000 new job opportunities created.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking in the parliament session on Wednesday, Eshaq Jahangiri said that the most important step taken by the government in fighting the Coronavirus crisis is allocating 1000 billion Toman credits so that people can tackle the situation.

Jahangiri added that the government has allocated 75,000 billion Toman to 23 million families who are currently receiving subsidies from the government.

"Also, 50,000 billion Toman will be allocated to the agencies and businesses which were closed due to the Coronavirus crisis outbreak containment mandatory plans, so that they would be able to pay their staff’s salaries," Jahangiri highlighted.

Jahangiri went on to say that economic growth has been positive in all economic sections, and more than 470,000 new job opportunities have been created and the rate of unemployment has decreased from 11.8 to 10.6.

Jahangiri who was delivering his speech in a vote of confidence session of parliament to the nominated agricultural minister said that 8.6% of the economic growth in the last year was related to the agriculture section and important plans have been created in this section.

In the open session of parliament, Wednesday 8 April, Kazem Khavazi became the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad with 196 votes of the members of parliament in his favor.

Upon the vote of confidence hearing the views of the proponents and opponents of the nominee as the minister for the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, the MPs finally voted 196 in favor and 19 against and 4 abstentions out of a total of 215 MPs present at the session.
