Tehran (IP): Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts said the 'Culture of Preservation' should be added to the school curriculum.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking in the Guardians of Cultural Heritage ceremony in Tehran, Ali Asghar Mounesan said: "Protecting a nation's property is protecting their identity which has great importance, and protecting cultural heritage is protecting the history and identity of a country."

"In order to do our responsibility, we should do our best and ask the maximum cooperation of people, since we have a large number of historical places in different parts of our country," he added.

He also emphasized that officials also need to take effective actions in prevention.

"Culture of Preservation should be added to the school curriculum," he underlined.

Commander of the protection unit of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Brigadier-General Amir Rahmatollahi also said that protecting and taking care of cultural works is our main responsibility.

"In this regard, good actions were taken. For instance, we have access to a virtual observation system and we could identify 120 offender sites which is a good achievement," Amir Rahmatollahi added.

He also mentioned that deterrent actions were also taken in order to create a barrier and not let the crimes happen.

In this ceremony, some activists and the family of martyrs who were murdered in the way of protecting cultural heritage were honored by the Minister.104/207
