Leader appointed Ghaani as new commander of Quds Force

Leader of the Islamic revolution in a decree, following the Martyrdom of Lieutenant General Soleimani, appointed Brigadier General Esmail  Ghaani as the new Quds commander.

Iran PressIran news: Following the Martyrdom of Lieutenant General Soleimani, Iran's leader and Commander-in-Chief issued a decree appointing Brigadier General Esmail  Gha'ani to command the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. 

Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.

Lieutenant General Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Lieutenant General Soleimani has been named in the list of top Global Thinkers in the defense and security in Foreign Policy (FP)’s 2019.
