Tehran (IP) - Deputy director of the 'Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism' Organization said Iran's Handicrafts' exports in 2018 reached to $289 million.

Iran Press/Iran news: Pouya Mahmoudian said Iran Handicrafts' exports in 2018 has the 3 percents growth compared to 2017 and reached to a total sale of $289 million.

She added that in 2018 with 18 percents growth in the local market, 1700 billion Tomans (Iranian currency) Handicraft productions sold, Iran Press reported.

She noted to Iran's 3rd place in the versatility of Handicrafts production in the world and said: "CHHT Organization has revived 17 fields of Handicrafts which were at the danger of forgotten."

Pouya Mahmoudian said for supporting of local Handicrafts production, import of Handicrafts from abroad had been forbidden and also CHHT Organization edited and provided instruction of fighting with Handicrafts trafficking to the legal authority organization.

On Monday, 10 June 2019 on the province of Yazd, capital of modern pottery souvenirs, in the occasion of International Day of Handicrafts 60 traditional design of pottery and ceramic of Meybod Inaugurated.
