Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism said Iran's tourism industry has had a successful growth despite the US cruel sanctions, since it relies upon internal potentials of the country.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an Interview with Iran Press, and on the sidelines of inauguration ceremony of 226 cultural heritage projects in Tehran on Tuesday, Ali Asghar Mounesan noted that the activities of the ministry is based on Resistive Economy for their relying upon domestic capacities,  which consequently would lessen the effect of the US sanctions.

Although Mounesan pointed out to the cancellation of some direct foreign flights to Iran as the result of sanctions,  he stressed that the ministry implemented plans proper to the sanctions.

Defining new target countries for tourism, working on regional countries for tourism, as well as visa waiver with these countries were of the plans Mounesan enumerated for the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism.

He assessed the total performance of the ministry positive and referred to the arrival of 7-8 million tourists, comming  to Iran as an indication of the assessment. 104/215/203
