The United States on Wednesday imposed sanctions on a sprawling network of firms, ships, and individuals, claiming that was allegedly directed by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps that supplied Syria with oil in breach of US sanctions.

Iran Press/America: The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control released a statement on Wednesday, announcing the sanctions hit 16 entities, 10 people including a former Iranian oil minister and his son, and 11 vessels.

Moreover, the sanctions include subsidiaries of an Indian firm with an interest in the Adrian Darya, the Iran-operated oil tanker Adrian Darya 1 that has set sail from Gibraltar, where it had been impounded for over a month, Reuters reported.

The vessel seized by Britain and held in Gibraltar for six weeks.

The United States has blacklisted the Iranian-operated supertanker Adrian Darya 1 and sanctioned its captain. 101/218
