Elysee Palace praises the talks between Emanuel Macron and  Jean-Yves Le Drian with Mohammad Javad Zarif

French Presidential Palace has praised as positive the talks between the President Emanuel Macron and Foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Iran Press/Europe: In a statement issued late Sunday, the Elysee Palace said that Paris would continue to consult with Tehran.

Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in southern French city Biarritz, where the G7 summit is convening, at the invitation of his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian, in a bid to continue discussions on recent initiatives between the presidents of Iran and France.

The Iranian Foreign Minister met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Jean-Yves Le Drian, as well as representatives of Germany and the United Kingdom.

Before leaving France, Zarif stressed that "Iran's active diplomacy continues."

Iranian nuclear issue is one of the main topics at the summit of the G7 summit. Together with Britain and Germany, the host country France is willing to take advantage of the event to rescue the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iranian nuclear deal, from which the United States has withdrawn, raising the tension of the Persian Gulf region.
