Iran Press/ Iran news: The deputy chairman of Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kamal Dehghani Firouzabadi has forthrightly condemned America's violation of Iranian airspace on Saturday.
He said: “In the coming week, first we will hold elections at the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, and then we shall consider violation of Iran’s airspace by an American spy drone and also other provocative and tension-raising actions of the US will be investigated in the commission,” Iran Press reported.
Dehghani Firouzabadi added: “The violation of Iran’s airspace is a serious matter, a very important matter. The role of countries in the region which provide military bases for the US, including the United Arab Emirates, from where the spy drone originated, will also be investigated. Iran’s lawsuit against the US regarding the violation of its airspace and the actions of Iran’s foreign ministry regarding this matter will also be considered."
The MP representing Taft and Meybod cities, thanked the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) because of its consciousness in acting in time, saying: “This action showed that the Islamic Republic of Iran, and IRGC, has the necessary foresight, awareness, and decisiveness to deal with such situations."
“Shooting down the American spy drone was a clear signal to all countries that Iran fully controls its own airspace and that potential violators of Iranian airspace should be warned about the punishment they face,” Dehghani concluded.
The IRGC had announced in a statement early Thursday that the US-made Global Hawk surveillance drone was brought down by its Air Force near Kouh-e Mobarak region in the southern district of Jask after the aircraft violated Iran's airspace.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a second statement on Thursday disclosing details about the shooting down of the US spy drone near the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the unmanned aircraft was targeted after violating Iran's airspace over the Southern coasts. 101/211/214
