Tehran (IP) - Iran's foreign minister called on the international community to take a clear stance in support of a political solution to the crisis in Afghanistan.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met on Sunday with the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy on Afghanistan and Regional Issues Jean Arnault here in Tehran.

At the meeting, Zarif highlighted the increasingly critical situation in Afghanistan and blamed the interference of the foreign powers for the condition.

Stressing the intra-Afghan talks as the key solution for Afghanistan's crises, Zarif called on the international community to take a clear stance in support of a political solution to the crisis in Afghanistan and condemn the violence and its consequences in the country.

Appreciating the constructive role of Iran and other regional countries in the peace process in Afghanistan, the UN envoy stressed the cooperation to mitigate the severity of the situation in the country. 

Jean Arnault also emphasized the importance of intra-Afghan talks as the only way to overcome the current critical situation in Afghanistan.
