Iran Press/Iran news: Kharrazi made the remarks in Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) in a presentation on the theme “Iran's Islamic Revolution at 40: Regional Cooperation: Prospects and Challenges” on Saturday, 9 February 2019 at Al-Rayyan Conference Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Doha.
According to an Iran Press report, the top Iranian foreign policy official called for regional dialogue and said that regional countries should take a collective decision to achieve peace and security without external interference.
Referring to the achievements of the Islamic Revolution, Kharrazi said that Iran managed to attain distinguished successes in the scientific, economic and technological arenas, and despite different plots, it is now a more stable country in the region.
Iran is ready for cooperation with all regional states to share its 40-year experience with them, he said.
“The business of Iranophobia has been created just to impose their policy on some countries in the region and take their money in exchange for supporting their security,” said Kharrazi, adding, “There are lots of investment in the region to provoke Iranophobia and Americans especially are pushing for Iranophobia.”
He further maintained that Iranophobia led to the destruction of certain countries’ wealth and strengthening their ties with the Zionist regime.
The US supports Saudi Arabia as it needs its wealth, as it has taken $400 billion of Saudi money for meaningless things, Kharrazi said.
Iran rushed to help Iraq and Syria when Baghdad and Damascus requested assistance from Tehran in their counterterrorism measures, he said.
“We support Hezbollah as it is fighting with occupiers and this caused the Zionist regime to leave Lebanon,” he said.
Referring to the cultural and spiritual influence of Iran in the region, Kharrazi said, "Iran has managed to inspire many Arab and non-Arab countries, because it has been able to achieve progress without the support of foreigners."
