A symbol of their allegiance and love for the Ahlul Bayt.A peaceful March was held by the Momineen in declaration of the message of Imam Hossein and creating awareness to the other communities.
During the walk, known as(Maseer) the Shia sang Ma'atam and Latmiyya, proudly declaring their love for Imam Hossein and cursing his oppressors.Banners and flags of Imam Hossein were carried and waved through out the walk.After every few blocks, an announcer explained the motive behind the walk on speaker so as to familiarize the onlookers with what was happening.the announcer explained that the walk was to commemorate the death anniversary of the grandson of the Holy Prophet who was unjustly martyred by a deviant ruler, Imam Hossein is a symbol of hope and sacrifice, his death is a message to every human regardless of religion.203
