Before departing for Geneva to attend the 6th Conference of World Parliamentary Speakers, Iran's Parliament Speaker described the national unity achieved during the recent 12-day imposed war as “a miracle.”

Why it matters:

Emphasizing internal solidarity during regional tensions signals the importance of domestic cohesion when facing global challenges including the Israeli blockade of Gaza to kill the people by starvation.

What he's saying:

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf: “The greatest achievement of the 12-day war was national unity. People of diverse beliefs and preferences came together. It was like a miracle and a blessing from God, reflecting our beloved Iran’s civilization.”

He added that a draft bill to support Iranians living abroad is under parliamentary review and his visit to Geneva presents a valuable opportunity to meet Iranian expatriates and hear their concerns.
