The UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories accused Western countries of incompetence and failure to implement international law against the Zionist Regime in a message.

Why it matters:
The Zionist regime's attacks on the Gaza Strip have become not only a military act, but also a deep and complex humanitarian crisis that must be addressed through international cooperation and serious efforts to establish peace to help improve the living conditions of the residents of the region.

The big picture:
The Zionist regime has launched extensive ground and air attacks against the Gaza Strip since October 9, 2023. The regime has also used hunger as a weapon during the war and has blocked all food aid from entering the Strip.

What she's saying:
Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, published a message on X, accusing Western countries of "absolute incapacity of Western leaders to enforce international law when it comes to Israel is EPIC."

"Ministers, Prime Ministers, Presidents of the Republic: Doing NOTHING, diverting attention, sanctioning individual ministers IS NOT enforcing the international law that was developed after the Holocaust and WWII to prevent another Holocaust and WWII," she wrote.

Key points:
Your states have a CLEAR obligation to:
1. Sanction Israel
2. Impose a total arms embargo (no buy,  no sell, no transfer, direct or indirect)
3. Break the siege (send navies instead of dropping food on the heads of starving genocide survivors)
4. Suspend all trade agreements with Israel till the end of the genocide, occupation, and apartheid.
