Iran's FM Javad Zarif

Tehran (IP) - "The return of the United States to the JCPOA without lifting sanctions is not in the interests of Iran, but it is in the interests of the United States," Iran's FM Javad Zarif said.

Iran PressIran News: Zarif, who spoke to KHAMENEI.IR noted: "If they can negotiate with others, they should go and negotiate again. Americans have a saying that 'what's mine is mine and what's yours is negotiable.' If they apply this rule to others, they should realize that they can never make such a rule with Iran as the oldest nation in the world."

Zarif added: "The Joint comprehensive plan of Acton (JCPOA), also known as Iran's nuclear deal, is not like a 'Curved Sliding Door'; you enter from one side and leave from the other. After all, international relations are the norm."

"Our partners have suffered, and these losses must be made up," he said, referring to Trump's sanction of 50 Chinese companies over the past four years.

"If Mr. Biden signs the executive order, we will sign it too," the senior diplomat said, adding: "Of course, the mere signing of a text or document by Biden alone is not enough, but Iran must see the positive effects of US actions."

In response to the question: "What would be our position if the participants in JCPOA want to raise new conditions for lifting the sanctions?" he answered: "They have no right to do such a thing at all."
