Iran Press/ Iran news: Hossein Amirabdollahian said that Iran remains ready to return to nuclear talks “very soon” but the Biden administration has sent a “negative sign" by failing to lift economic sanctions and imposing new sanctions against Tehran,
He called this kind of behavior paradoxical, which does not contain a constructive message.
Amirabdollahian said that since US President Joe Biden assumed office, "No constructive action has been taken other than contradictory comments from him," he emphasized that "Tehran, we will make a decision based on Biden's practical behavior."
Iran's top diplomat reminded that the new Iranian government, since its inauguration, has stated its clear and unequivocal policy towards JCPOA, Amirabdollahian said that “we are assessing and I can tell you that we have had many meetings and we will keep the window of diplomacy and negotiations open. He added that this window of opportunity will not be open forever.
Regarding regional issues, Amirabdollahian also pointed out that the foreign policy of the new Iranian government seeks to have the best relations with neighboring countries and the region.
He said that Iran's regional policy top priorities include the Persian Gulf talks, constructive initiatives to restore peace in Yemen and Syria, as well as the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan along with progress and development in Iraq.
In this regard, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated: "Prioritizing our neighbors and the Asian continent does not mean ignoring other priorities, but pursuing a balanced foreign policy and active foreign relations with all countries, based on mutual respect and interest, are the principles of the new government's foreign policy."
At the end of his speech, Amirabdollahian addressing the US government said: "The United States can also use this opportunity by reconsidering its wrong and unconstructive policies towards the Islamic Republic of Iran."
The Iranian foreign minister added that the Iranian nation has a great history and civilization and that US officials should know that the language of sanctions and threats will not work, as it has been proven to them in the last 40 years. 219
