Tehran (IP)- The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran strongly condemned parts of the final statement of the G7 Summit which contains baseless and fabricated accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressIran News: "Nasser Kanaani Chafi", the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, rejected the baseless accusations against Iran's peaceful nuclear program and said: "Iran's nuclear program has only peaceful purposes, and nuclear weapons have no place in the defense doctrine of the Islamic Republic."

Kanaani Chafi considered the call of the G7 leaders to support the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2231 as very strange and a sign of the contradictory policies of these countries because they themselves are the main violators of the aforementioned resolution and apply maximum illegal sanctions against the Iranian nation.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran considered the JCPOA to be an action with good intentions on behalf of Iran to remove artificial concerns about Iran's nuclear program and an important achievement of multilateral diplomacy, which unfortunately suffered serious damage due to the unlawful withdrawal of the United States from the agreement and the inaction of the European parties following the withdrawal of the United States.

Iran strongly lambastes G7 Finance Ministers meeting communiqué

Recalling the satisfactory progress in the implementation of the agreements between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, Kanaani added:

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has always adhered to its international obligations and is determined to maintain constructive cooperation and interactions with the International Atomic Energy Agency within the framework of the NPT and Safeguard agreement to continue."

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran also strongly condemned the political and instrumental use of the issue of human rights against the Islamic Republic of Iran by the G7 leaders of the Group of Seven and added:

Instead of making baseless accusations, these countries should take responsibility for the systematic violation of the human rights of Iranians inside and outside the country, and among them, women and children should be held accountable through actions and accompanying cruel, unilateral, and illegal sanctions.

The G7 summit was held on May 19-21 in Hiroshima, Japan.

Germany, France, Italy, Japan, England, the USA, and Canada are the G7  member states.
