Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman says Iran and Iraq can have unlimited relations which could be expanded according to their wish.

Iran PressIran news: Attending his weekly press conference and responding to Iran Press' question, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that several bilateral and international issues are underway between Iran and Iraq.

"Shalamcheh rail way project is one of the most important issues which is being followed besides several other projects right now," he said.

"Also, we are negotiating about facilitating citizen’s commute and issuing visa," the spokesperson added.

Referring to regional issues, he said Iraq has a key role in this regard, especially in Iran-Saudi Arabia talks.

He also referred to the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein's trip to Iran and said: "In this trip, we expressed our worrisome about active terrorist groups in Iraq and warned about the country’s soil abuse for terrorist activities."

"According to an Iraqi Network, a meeting of the Iraqi Ministry of Energy Council was held yesterday, and during the meeting, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi ordered a team from the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity to travel to Iran and consult on gas imports," Khatibzadeh announced.
