The foreign ministers of Iran and Iraq have emphasized the need for coordination and unity among Islamic countries in supporting the oppressed Palestinian nation.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation on Sunday night, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold an emergency meeting to support the Palestinian nation and Al-Aqsa Mosque against the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime.

Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the legitimate right of the Palestinian nation to resist aggression and occupation.

He described the spontaneous operation of the Palestinian resistance groups as a natural response to the continuous aggression and extreme actions of the Zionist regime against Islamic holy sites and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and due to the ongoing crimes and killings against the Palestinian people, especially women, children, and Palestinian prisoners.

Amir-Abdullahian called for coordinated and effective action by Islamic countries to help Palestine and stop the aggressive attacks of the Zionist regime against the women and children of Gaza and the West Bank.

For his part, Fuad Hussein indicated that the operations carried out by the Palestinian people are a natural result of the systematic oppression they have been subjected to since ancient times at the hands of the Zionist occupation authority, which has never adhered to international and UN resolutions.

The Iraqi top diplomat called on the international community to take action to put an end to the serious violations and restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, who are still suffering from occupation, policies of racial discrimination, siege, transgression of sacred things, and violation of humanitarian values and principles.

The two sides also touched on some issues related to bilateral relations and the security agreement between the two countries.
