69 years ago, on such a day, a turning point in Iranian political history began. Iran's oil industry was nationalized as a result of a difficult challenging and historical move.

Iran Press/Iran News: The nationalization of the Iranian oil industry was a bill proposed by the members of the Iranian Oil Commission in the parliament approved on March 19, 1951, and Iranian oil nationalized accordingly.

Oil colonization began once the wheels of industry in the West began moving and the newly industrialized countries realized that they were heavily dependent on oil for the continuation and progress of industry, and if they would fail to guarantee their access to oil, they would depend to the owners of this great wealth forever.

Therefore, they tried to dominate the oil of other countries through different ways; from the occupation to exploitation contracts and dominating the stages of oil production, from extraction to the sale of the black gold.

The history shows how foreign companies plundered oil resources belonging to the Iranian people for years by imposing such exploitation contracts, and then-Iranian authorities did not make any effort to protect and retain the rights of their people.

International conditions during the period were such that various countries were seeking oil concessions, especially Russia in the north of Iran, Britain and the United States in the south of the country.

After a tumultuous political period, with the Iranian oil industry nationalized, the British withdrew from the Iranian oil industry and gradually from the region.

The nationalization of the Iranian oil industry was also a turning point in the history of political developments in the West Asian region such that the nationalization of the Suez Canal in Egypt, led by Gamal Abdel Nasser, was inspired by the nationalization of the Iranian oil industry.
