Deputy Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi

Kermanshah (IP)- Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that the role of border provinces, specially Kermanshah province, in terms of relations with neighbouring Iraq, is very important.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at the opening ceremony at Martyrs High School -- a high school funded and built by Iran's Foreign Ministry in Sarpol-e Zahab -- Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi pointed to the potential of Kermanshah province in relation to neighbouring Iraq and said: "Currently, important talks between the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and senior Iraqi officials is underway."

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister continued his remarks with reference to visas being provided free of charge between Iran and Iraq, saying: "Visas provided free of charge is indeed good news for Iranian pilgrims wishing to visit holy shrines in neighbouring Iraq", Iran Press reported.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Abbas Araghchi said the small town of 'Sarpol-e Zahab' dedicated more than 850 martyrs to the Islamic Revolution during the holy defense era.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said that Iran's foreign ministry also dedicated more than 40 martyrs to the Islamic Revolution.
