Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bahram Ghasemi said that Friday meeting in Tehran between Iran, Russia and Turkey will be effective in the framework of Syria peace talk.

Iran press/Iran: The Friday meeting in Tehran is in the framework of the trilateral meetings of the high representatives of the guarantor states of the Astana format peace talks on Syria which took place between foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey and also between their experts, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bahram Ghasemi stated in Monday's press conference.

"As the evidence shows the Friday meeting over Syria will be a constructive and effective one", Ghasemi noted.

"Solving all the complicated issues like Syria in  just one meeting is unlikely. As the Astana format peace talks process showed in the past, it is a successful path. Tehran meeting definitely will be helpful for taking more steps toward fighting with terrorism, and establishing peace and stability in Syria", Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson added.

"I am positive about the result of Friday meeting in Tehran and I hope that it will be in the benefit of Syrian people and the region", Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bahram Ghasemi concluded.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in Mar. 16 at the end of the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, and Turkey in Astana that Astana Peace Process has fruited good results.

Iran, alongside Russia and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. The three guarantor states initiated the Astana Process on January 23, 2017, establishing de-escalation zones in an effort to restore calm in the region and improve the humanitarian situation in war-torn Syria.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Javad Zarif has arrived in Damascus with a political delegation at the official invitation of Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem for talks and consultations with his counterpart, as well as with Syrian President Bashar Assad and Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis," Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

This visit takes place a week after the Iranian defense minister travelled to the Arab country and on the eve of the meeting of the Presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey, which is scheduled for September 7 in Tehran.
