The chair of the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy commission, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, in a meeting with Britain's junior foreign office minister, responsible for Middle East, Alistair Burt stressed that Europeans should take more tangible action with regards to JCPOA.

Iran Press/Iran news: The chair of the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy commission, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, met on Sunday with Britain's Minister for the Middle East within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Alistair Burt.

Commenting on JCPOA Falahatpisheh said: "The political will of European countries vis-a-vis JCPOA is praiseworthy, but so far the Europeans have shown little economic support for the JCPOA, and have taken no practical steps to bolster the nuclear deal (JCPOA )."

The senior Iranian MP also emphasized that  Iran expects Europe to take more practical steps in this regard.

Referring to the significance and importance of parliamentary  cooperation between Tehran and London, and the important role the two parliaments play in decision-making, Falahatpisheh went on to say that promoting   parliamentary ties between the two countries  will help raise  the level  of understanding  between Tehran and London, and will lead to more cooperation between the two countries.

Iran's top parliamentarian also stressed the fact that  Islamic Republic of Iran has never acted emotionally  and hurriedly after US withdrawal from The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known as JCPOA ." but in turn, the country has did its best to pave the ground form holding talks in order to shed light on the  dimensions  of the cooperation  under new conditions.

Falahatpisheh went on to stress Europe's role in countering US sanctions against Iran, by supporting the sale of Iranian crude  oil, by facilitating financial and banking transactions with Iran, and by encouraging European companies and businesses to have an active presence in Iran. Falahatpisheh added: "This is the minimum we expect from the Europeans if the nuclear deal (JCPOA ) is to be preserved."

Earlier  on Aug 31,2018 ,Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message on twitter asked other members of JCPOA to comply with their obligations instead of making extraneous demands.

Meanwhile on 15 July 2018, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged European signatories to the nuclear deal (JCPOA), to provide Tehran with necessary  guarantees about continued implementation of the deal.

Iran's president, Hassan Rouhani on 3rd July , emphasized that European countries should denounce Washington's unilateral policies.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said at the meeting of high-ranking delegations of Iran and Switzerland that European countries should denounce US unilateral behavior in the world.

Iranian President noted that all European countries are supposed to explicitly and openly support multilateralism in the world and condemn current American policy of unilateralism to underline the path of honouring international agreements.

In May, Trump called the nuclear accord - or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as it is formally known - a "horrible, one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made" and withdrew from the deal.

After Washington's May 8 exit from the historic Iran Deal, the US gave 90 to 180 wind-down period to other countries before it starts re-imposing oil sanctions on Tehran on November 4.

Part of the US illegitimate sanctions were imposed on Iran on August 9. Trump also said he would reinstate the US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.
