Foreign ministry spokesman, Bahram Qasemi, said on Monday that the Islamic Republic strongly condemns and rejects US judicial authorities’ absentee, lopsided, politically-motivated and baseless rulings as extraterritorial and unlawful.

Qasemi further noted that issuing such verdicts which are not based on solid evidence, amounts to a mockery of not only the international legal system, but also the American people, especially the survivors and victims of the 9/11 incidents.

Bahram Qasemi said:  "Official U.S. government reports admit that the perpetrators of the 9/11 terrorist incidents were from countries which are US regional allies". Qasemi categorically rejected any Iranian involvement in the September 11 attacks, and pointedly added:  "No evidence has been presented in the U.S. courts of law to back this up".

Qasemi added:  "The Islamic Republic has announced its strong official protest to the US government through official channels, and issuing such illegal rulings is flagrant violation of well-established international laws, regulations and procedures".

The spokesman added: "Iran reserves the right to pursue the case legally, and counter it effectively and call for compensations to that effect".
