A 4.6-magnitude quake shook suburbs of Kianshahr region in southeastern province of Kerman early Sunday.

The quake hit at 00:33 hours local time Sunday (20:04 GMT Saturday) at 31.27 degrees northern latitude and 56.29 degrees eastern altitude at the depth of 10 kilometers underground, according to the Seismological Center of Tehran University.

No report is available yet on possible damage to property or life.Kianshahr region consisting of Taqar al-Jarad, Salmanshahr, Husseinabad and Aliabad villages is located 60 kilometers north of the city of Zarand.Iran sits on major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world's most quake-prone countries.
